Choose the drink before the machine
Filter coffee, espresso and capsules are different ways of brewing. Choose the drink and serving size you want each day, then compare the work involved. A built-in grinder saves a separate grinding step, but does not remove cleaning and descaling. A manual steam wand still needs you to froth the milk.
Capsule systems are not interchangeable. Check the exact capsules available, their cost per drink and how you will dispose of them. A machine-only bundle may not include a frother. For a filter carafe, litres are more useful than an advertised number of small cups: measure your usual mug and allow for the batch size you actually need.
